Hamar Jawo is a Gambian national and is currently a bank supervisor at the Islamic Finance Unit, Financial Supervision Department, Central Bank of The Gambia. Prior to joining the Central Bank Islamic Finance Unit, Jawo was the Assistant Head of Treasury at Arab Gambian Islamic Bank. He is a Senior Lecturer at the International Open University and holds an MBA in Islamic Finance from the prestigious Center of Higher Studies in Management Sciences, CESAG (Senegal). Hamar Jawo is also a seasoned consultant, CEO and founder of the Interest Free Zone, a consultancy firm in Islamic Banking and Finance.
