Ilm Institute is an educational resource created by the International Open University (IOU) and launched in March 2019. It aims to build the foundation of an educated and skilled society by providing millions of Muslim students with a platform where they can get easy access to a multitude of professional, Islamic and modern courses taught by visionaries and expert instructors from across the globe. Unlike IOU’s degree programs, these courses are short and do not have any educational requirements or a time limit for completion.

This initiative bridges the gap between a teacher and a student, each wanting to either seek or  impart education, respectively, using modern and flexible methods of education. An educator of any specialization can prepare his or her course contents and register with Ilm Institute after an initial screening, while a student can browse through numerous courses available in various fields. These courses currently cover topics like finance, psychology, health, fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and tafseer (Qur’an interpretation), and will insha Allaah (God willing) also go into topics like MS Office, technical coding and a lot more.

What makes Ilm Institute stand apart from other online courses platforms like Udemy, Skillshare and Lynda is the fact that it combines Islamic ethics with modern education. While each course may not have an Islamic perspective to it, it stays clear of any statement contradictory to the deen (religion).

All courses at Ilm Institute are easy to navigate on both desktop and mobile devices and will be instructor-led, self-paced, blended and entirely online. Anybody who wishes to seek a quality education, a student or a professional, can enroll and gather knowledge on their own schedule.
